A comprehensive list of trails in Aspen can be found at the Chamber's Website or the Parks & Rec. Below are a few of the most popular trails known to be dog-friendly. Most trails require dogs to be leashed. Off-leash areas require the dog be under voice & sight control. Be sure to take a poop bag or grab one from a station near the trail! Check with the Aspen Ranger District for more information and rules. 970-925-3445

During the winter, the Golf Course is open for cross-country skiing and your dogs are welcome to join!

New Rule: Dogs are prohibited between 7:45 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. at Snowmass, Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands. Dogs are always prohibited on Ajax in the winter.

Prohibitions:

Dogs strictly prohibited on the City of Aspen Golf Course (except in Winter), Cozy Point Ranch, North Star Open Space, and Maroon Creek Wetlands. Leash laws strictly enforced in downtown Aspen (especially walking malls), Herron Park (including wading pool), Hunter Creek Trail, Rio Grande Trail, Jennie Adair Wetlands, Marolt Wetlands (near housing), and the playing fields at school campus and Aspen Rec Center.
